The Rib Trip takes you to Normandy and down the French estuary docking at the Port of Carteret, otherwise known as “port of the isles”. The port is located on the right bank of the mouth of the Gerfleur River. This small port is extremely influenced by tidal flows as vessels can only move to and from the marina during relatively high tide.  The picturesque town has many fantastic sites to visit including its hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars, and its Saturday market. Many of these places are known for serving typical French dishes.

Barneville is a nearby town located 30-minutes away from the Port. The town was originally built and fortified on a hill during the middle ages for coastal surveillance. Passengers are invited to explore the remains of the medieval walls that historically protected the city.

Barneville-Carteret has arguably the best sandy beaches in Normandy as they are secluded by hills alongside its coastline. 

A trip to Barneville-Carteret allows passengers to explore the history of the town, marina, and its coastline whilst fully indulging in the French culture and cuisine.
